Hi, I need to arrange (european) travel insurance. I did an online quote with insurers who cover (pre existing medical conditions) and was horrified by the price. Can anyone recommend a more realistically priced insurer please?

Hi bolt from the blue.
Europe should not be too expensive . I have used Staysure in the past reasonable price. There is advice on this site regards insurers who understand and cover our conditions. At the side of this page under Topics there is advice re insurance..
Regards Sandy
I used 'staysure' for Italy this year. It was very reasonable for both myself and hubby who also has pre existing health conditions.

Depends on your medical history but I've used Atlas Direct in the past, with no significant increase in premium for ET.
Hi
I have used various companies and the cost for 1 year , worldwide incl.Canada (As I went there) was nearly 500 GBP.
As others Staysure are very good with any MPNs best to phone them, our condition are in their list of covered conditions and my experience has been very cheap premiums - hope you get cover and have a good holiday!
Hi
I had a similar challenge a few years ago when going to New York. I eventually contacted an insurance broker who went above and beyond to find me a suitable company.
I can't remember who we eventually used but the service from the broker was first class.
He was able to go to the whole of the market and came up with a number of options.
It's far easier to do this than try and source ourselves
As others have said Staysure only add a very small amount on for ET. Also they do annual cover which lots insurers won't do. I think for me worldwide annual was around £110 . ET additional cost was under £20. Go on line and you can get a quote. They then send you emails after offering 15%off if you don't take it out straight away.
Are you in a trades union? Although retired now I retain my union membership and one of the things provided is worldwide family cover whatever conditions you have until 65 yrs old. I have a number of conditions other than ET but as it is a block insurance the only limitations the insurance place re illnesses are as long as you haven't been advised not to travel or the illness isn't terminal then no added premium.
I've been to Italy a couple of times with All Clear Travel which is a comparison site for pre-existing medical conditions. I have MPN/MDS plus a Pacemaker. Got 18 days in Italy for £84. Good luck. Have z safe journey.
I use freedom very reasonable
