Hey guys... :)

There are new reports about a new Australian drug developed in Melbourne called Venetoclax. It has been rushed into use in the US and in parts of Europe...

Here is the link to an older story from earlier this year.

Omg that's amazing. What fantastic news. Let's just pray that cost doesn't limit use. That's really bucked up my morning knowing there is such hope for those who have progressed to AML. Onwards and upwards

Hey Jilly... :)

I thought it was wonderful news too... At present, it is mainly for Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia (CLL) sufferers, and its main function is working with BCL-2. But anything that has the ability to create complete molecular remission in circa 20% of participants is worthy of comment, who knows what the future may uncover...?

Steve

that is so exciting. I don't know about different forms of leukaemia, not well informed on it. Would it be effective on AML too? Maybe still to be tested but sounds like a great leap forward.

I attended a seminar a couple of years ago and we were informed there are around 140 types of blood cancer. . Staggering !!

Hey Crazy Daisy... :)

My thoughts as well. Hopefully, we will begin to hear more as more and more people commence accessing it through trials etc...

How far it will apply towards other forms of leukaemia is unclear at the present...

Hey Chris... :)

You are most welcome my friend. I am still chipping away and trying to sculpt out positive ways to contribute.

You are correct of course, so many different forms of blood cancer.

However, whenever anyone takes a leap in the right direction, it can offer hope to us all...

Best wishes Chris. :)

Yes, I am fine as I hope you are also.

I found another article that also indicates that Venetoclax is more than useful in combating AML too...
