Dear fellow MPNers, I just wanted to share this interesting research (ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/286... particularly relevant to those of us with the CALR mutation. The research seems to indicate that CALR exon 9 mutations may be targets for specific T cells and thus promising targets for immune therapy such as peptide vaccination. The first phase I trial of such a vaccine is on-going in a small group of patients in Denmark (NCT03566446). I realise that pre-clinical results don't always translate in the clinical setting and hence the need to moderate our expectations until the results are out. Nevertheless, this is exciting research. We owe so much to the researchers and clinicians who work tirelessly to bring us potential new treatments.....and hopefully one-day, a cure. So a big thank you to the whole MPN research community ......and fingers crossed for the vaccine trial and all other MPN trials !

CALR Mutations promising targets for immune therapy ?
Thanks for posting this, Huw. I don’t have the CALR mutation, but it looks like a potentially promising line.

I have CAL-R mutation
Hi Helena, I also have the CALR mutation (type 2) . I was diagnosed when I was 57 (3 years ago) until now I have only been taking Aspirin but I’m seeing my consultant tomorrow and the plan is to start with Pegasys. I’m always on the look out for new research on potential treatments for MPNs, particularly CALR, hence the post regarding the vaccine trial. Hope you are doing well and your condition is under control. Take care, warm regards, Huw
Thank you for sharing this
