Hi Frank I take 1000mg 7 days a week and I found taking 500 mg in the morning and 500 mg after tea really helped to settle my stomach. However, I have recently been reading on this forum members comments on taking their Hydroxy in the evening before bedtime to help alleviate the fatigue during the day, etc. I have been trying this for the past 2 weeks and I have to say it has had a huge improvement on my fatigue. So might continue with this regime. Its like one member quoted you sleep through the worst of it. I am also sleeping better as a result too. Hope this helps :) best wishes

Thanks for replying.

I take at night for same reasons

I've changed my career due to PRV and part time drive for a supermarket delivery of shopping. No stress and little pressure. .

So evening regime means I sleep through the worst ..

Hi Frank , just to say I had the same experience first time I started taking HU 20 nonths ago 3 x1000 &

4x 500,mg I srarted to sleep through the day as well as 8 hrs in The night , far to sleepy ,

, My Consultant suggested taking the HU in an Evening , What a huge improvement , Mind like yesterday I still have my off Days but unfortunately being a MPN with ET it's part of us now , I can just say , listen to your body , staying Hydrated is a must 2 Ltrs, a day of water ,

eat really healthy lots of greens & limit the Alcohol if you drink , it's not a good mix ,, take care

I started on HU many years ago and went in at three pills a day! I took one in the morning and two at night but still experienced nausea for some time. I found that travel sickness wristbands helped me - may have been psychological but it worked so who cares why! The nausea settled down in time and I have been up to four tablets a day without it returning. Hope you get yours sorted.
