My NRBC count has always been 0 but this month it is at 0.01. I’m a little worried as I know anything above 0 is considered unusual and my haem once told me that this is one of the markers of progression. However it is still just in normal range. Does anyone else have any experience of this? I have an appointment in a week but wondered if anyone had advice?

Out of the blue in July 2020 I had a 0.01 nrbc. Never had one since. Haematologist wasn’t bothered at the time either. Hopefully yours will be the same

I had a 0.01 reading a few years ago but then 0.00 for a couple of years. I've just noticed this hasnt been tested for a while, but I don't know why not.

Hi I've had same and 0.02 but back down now. I mentioned to my consultant but he wasn't concerned, so I'm not!!

I have had them off and on for the past five years. My specialist said they can be seen with ET, not uncommon do to overworking bone marrow. Hope this helps.

I’ve PMF and my NRB vary between 0 and 0.5 - now hovering about 0.1. Diagnosed this year but I’ve had numbers above 0 for the last 10 years. My higher numbers seem to tie in with when there was more stress on my bone marrow (significant training/over training).

Interesting? What do you mean by training - as in exercise? I’ve just trained for a half marathon so maybe it was that

Yes - exactly that - I was either running or cycling everyday and think I was overcooking it - I’m probably not doing quite enough now but I’m doing more strength and mobility work instead. Congrats on the half marathon!

That’s so interesting, thanks for letting me know. And it’s also a bit embarrassing because my wife said “maybe it’s from all the running” and I rolled my eyes as if to say “that’s not really how this works”. Time to eat some humble pie! (Or not mention it)

Well - it’s just a theory and correlation doesn’t always equal causation! But definitely worth keeping in mind and seeing if it is a pattern for you.

Oh for some reason I read it as your doctor had told you this. But I see now it’s just an idea. An interesting one though. Ok, humble pie remains on plate for now!
