Hi Scotty

I'm sorry no-one has answered your questions.

I am affraid I cant answer any of them for you either other than the fact that I used to get B12 injections years ago myself. At the time I suffered depression but went to the Drs because my lips & hands were turning blue, they still do now on the odd occassion but every time I get my bloods checked they come back normal & I suffer Ffibro.

I hope you get your answer.

Jackie

Hi,

Sorry to hear about your difficulties.

I don't know whether they a medic would say they are related, but in mind there is a relationship between what you are describing. There is strong evidence that high levels of stress that becomes to much to cope with then results in depression, and there is also evidence that Lupus which is linked to immune problems is greatly affected by, and may ultimately be caused by stress. Although stress doesn't automatically cause Lupus, people with Lupus have often experienced high levels of stress which has acted as the trigger for the Lupus. Aspergers is within the autistic spectrum and there is a theory that autuism is related to difficulties within the brain which make it difficult for the person to relate to process information in the same way as most people, particularly information that takes place within social interaction. We all know that social interaction is one of the best ways to keep emotionally healthy and that if we are socially isolated, as people with Aspergers tend to be, then we become depressed. So there are links, but they're not easy to understand as they are not straightforward.

B12 is a vitamin that helps with nerve development and regeneration to there is a link between B vitamins, Lupus and also depression as lack of B vitamins can lead to depression as well. Perhaps in years to come medics will be able to explain all the links, at the moment they just seem linked in an unclear way.
