I’ve been kicked out of therapy. The time I need them the most. With all what’s going on I’m getting worse.

I can’t fight my mind anymore.

Look for another place that offers you therapy - I hope someone may help you and you find the positiveness of life and will be able to see how you fit in. Hope you get support. If you need to talk - let it out - this site should help you. Good luck for future and truth in living life full of promises

Thank you so much Foggy123. I’m waiting to see my GP as got to mention few things. One being therapy.

Hope you are doing alright.

You mention been kicked out of theraphy how many sessions did you have ?Where you physically kicked out because your therapy was over.

Sometimes the Therapist has gone as far as they can and it could now be time for you to practice what you have learnt to help yourself

Generally in the UK we have agreed to ten or twelve sessions. And they feel there would be no benefit to move you on either to a new department to look for other problems and concerns

I have just been discharged because my Short Term Memory is stable at this time it was suggested a different department although I was in agreement to move on after scans and tests.

Mental Health Departments are under great stress at this time, still Covid on top of the standard problems associated with mental health conditions. I also get the impression that because of the Ukraine War they are expection major PTSD patients.

There were due to finish in July of this year.

Been using the service since Feb 2021 via teams.

I know so much going on in the world with covid and fighting.

Think there’s a lot that I have to work on but few triggers are making things a bit challenging atm and know I’ve a lot of work I still need to do.

It would seem that they now feel your Mental Health concerns have reach ed a point where there is little now they can help you with and any tricks and ways of addressing your problems, have been addressed and now it is up to you to use these ways that have been explained to you.

There comes a time, where you need to move on COVID and the problems in Ukraine, yes there are problems although many years ago I visited Kiev,

My main concern for the people and country are very sad and I actually purchased several books on the country so I could remember the places I had visited. The three books are rare one in Russian/English I purchased from America, the other in Russia/Ukraine and English came from somwhere in Europe. So now I have those memories from 1979 brings back lovely memories. I move on

You need to consider, if you have visited a country always go in some way to refresh your memory in positive ways, Worrying regards war or Covid in my eyes is not worth worrying about their is very little you can do and worrying will just fixate your fears and it will just make you ill.

Try and divert your thoughts and if possible hobbies do really help

In my case every where I have been has been destroyed by War, I collect books, my Hobby, of places that have been at War. When I feel low I look at the pictures where I have been this hobby is my diversion

Hello, I am sorry to hear you are also going through something similar. I too was recently let go as a patient from my psychiatrist. I have ADHD and Bipolar and was still in the process of finding the correct medication and correct dose, but before I even got there I was let go. It’s all because I missed couple appointments one in which I was a day later thinking and believing it was the day of my appointment when it was a day before. The last appointment I had missed was when me and my whole families was sick with Covid like symptoms and they too missed schools due to sickness. I however did call same day of my appt even if I was sick but was maybe 10 mins late and she wouldn’t accept my tele appt via online. I then sent an email to the front desk informing I attempted to call for appt but no answer and that If there any opening for last appt or any on that same day that I would take it cause I’m out of medications. There was not a my available and I asked if she can reschedule me then for a later available date. The email I received was an email apologizing that they are unable to make any more appt that I am being discharge from their clinic.

It’s really sad actually that we already going through my daily life struggles I go through and is seeing them for the problem I am having is also the reason they let me go of. Makes no sense!

But don’t let that stop you from seeking help! I was so sad and felt heartbroken almost like as I really loved my dr and believed she would be able to help me. Anyways all I can do is seek more help. So I made an appointment with a new psychiatrist and appointment is so far out in July of 2022! So I will be out of meds and no more refills from previous Dr…I am freaking out daily, scared , and don’t know what else to do. I know it will worsen my condition with no meds it will be major hard nasty relapse for me and the thought of that scares me already.

Be positive and look forward. Everything happen for a reason. Maybe there was no progress and that therapist wasn’t able to fulfill your need? I believe the right one is waiting for you to contact them. It always goes that way! And you will be glad you did too!

I don't know why they have those extreme boundaries in psychiatry. They should know that appointments are extremely stressful and difficult for people who are exhausted and anxious. Maybe the next Dr you get can do phone consultations. And maybe write a letter to the doctor that you liked, explaining what you just wrote above, how you really liked working with them and are pretty devastated that you lost their spot. There are human being, maybe they will understand. At the emergency room you can explain the situation, and I think they will give you a two-week supply of medications. It sounds like you're pretty calm, and staying on your own side rather than letting the system get you down. I think you're doing great.

Such a lovely message. I’m on meds before I got discharged from the Mental Health Team. I did find the appts challenging numerous times.

I’ve been told to write a departure email to which I have started. Just can’t guarantee all of it will be read out to the group. I did ask if I could give messages to the group members over teams but been told no.

Have a while to wait for the gp appt but she is sort of in the loop after getting a call this afternoon.

It is a really rough time, you're right. We've all got to get through this. Good job reaching out on this forum. It seems to be full of compassionate people. Is there a hotline, or what sometimes called a "warm line" that you can call for support? Sometimes you can engage by text also. I would just Google: mental health hotline. I would say you unfortunately had a therapist who didn't have strong enough skills to hold your energy. Honestly, it's hard to find the right therapist, so don't give up. Make sure that OCD is one of their specialties. If you find a local mental health group, maybe someone there can give you the name of a good therapist / counselor/psychologist who will be a lot better for you. Does looking at the big picture help you? It's what I have to do. We're all just part of the big ocean of life. We're not individual planets floating in space. I say that because it's easy to take all the difficulties in our lives super personally. As if maybe we caused them. It's hard to prove, but really, these illnesses are not our fault. Does a little baby ask to start struggling? No. And we cope the best we can as we grow up. And there are a lot of pollutants in the environment. It's hard to really know exactly why so many of us have ocd. Tune into your heart and give yourself the love that you would give a friend. The acceptance that the world is in a mess, and you're still standing, you're a good person. What we all need is a good friend. Keep reaching out here and find a friend, don't isolate 🙂🌱

You have been given some great supportive advice. I'm so glad you posted. Talking this through is so important.

Everything these days including mental health can be problematic, even whe outside people seem to be loosing patience in general.The Health Service even before Covid was not tolarating missed appointments, and generally on the third would then cancel appointments, and write to you and your Doctor explaining the reasons of refusing further treatment, The same applies with Dentists they do the same thing because a missed appointment means that another patient will have not got a appointment caused by you missing yours especially if you did not contact them in sufficient time to rearrange their list and give it to a like patient above.. Hence three strikes and your out rule.

Because of my diabetes my appointments are on a four month wait to get my nails checked and other tests associated with my problem. If someone fails to attend that causes problems. In one Department thier was about two hundred missed appointments in one month, the same applied to a Dentist.

Hence people having to attempt their own dentistry.

Sorry I am only explain what I have seen, the situation I suppose may get worse as additional patients arriving may need treatments as well, not forgetting the Covid and the lack of appointments for general patients awaiting for physio and operations etc
