Depersonalization?

I get these moments (days really) where I don't remember thinking much if any and I don't feel like my body is mine.

Basically the best way I can think to describe it is I feel like I'm wearing a VR headset. So I see everything around me it feels almost like it's synthetic or fake. And I have to tell my "character" (my body) to do things.

I'm unsure if this is the same as an out of body experience? Or if this is even depersonalization at all. Going to speak to my psychiatrist next time I see her but that won't be for another couple months so wanted to see if anyone on here had any advice.

Sometimes this can be controlled by drinking a glass of water. You can also try to swallow and make sound in your ears click, this seemed to clear the problem when I was younger you could give that a try.

If it still worries you and unable to clear the situation explain at your next appointment

Hey there, I’ve been struggling with this off and on too. Depersonalization/derelization. Has work or home life been stressing you? Talking to a doc is a great start. Therapy helps too. Therpay in a nutshell on YouTube has some great videos on this too, grounding strategies and mediation helps. Also deep breathing. Here’s some videos that help me
