I live with my parents and the house is really old and slowly falling apart. But my father refuses to get a trailer. He's such a tightwad. My mother and I are suffering because of it. He doesn't see anything wrong with the 40yr old pieced together house. Like literally it was pieced together and they used, used materials. Myfather and grandfather was no carpenter nor a builder. The floor is buckling up. We have old time wood heat. The windows are ancient. And yet he refuses to change anything

Our house was built in the 1930s and yes it needs work done to it sometimes. The concern is all this is normal and work gets done as we can afford it.
Our previous house was the same age and went through extensive modernisations it took over forty years to make it modern although generally these houses can be modernised and make a nice home
Wanting to live in a camper, you must be American. We used to have a Park Home Camper, it had all mod conns, although in winter things used to get frozen and the heating was propane gas This time of year would prefer a modernised house

By trailer I mean a mobile home not a camper
Yes we had a 24 x 38 Static the car would have been unable to pull it . A long length trailer would need to pull it. We got rid of it ten years ago it was out in the countryside and basically of grid with the exception of electricity, although the van was central heated by gas, all mod cons

Some people are stuck in their ways. But it must be frustrating to live in a house like that.
