Serious Surgery

Hi Last fall I was diagnosed with a rare stomach disease 🦠 called Gastroparesis which is where one’s stomach doesn’t empty fast enough. I had surgery which was successful but I still had a lot of symptoms of constant Gerd.

I recently met with my surgeon, who I may add has more initials after his MD then I’ve ever seen. Anyway I have a sliding hiatal hernia, and I can’t eat anything anymore w/o getting sick.

My surgery is scheduled for late September and the surgery itself will take 8 hours., with a 12 week recovery period.

Too say that I’m feeling alone since my entire family and my boyfriend has passed is a gross understatement.

My kitty 🐱 just turned 1 and it’s amazing how in tune animals can relate to your emotions.

I don’t know what I would do without him.

In any event I suppose for those of whom want I’d appreciate you keeping me in your prayers and thoughts.

Hi, Wow! What an interesting medical history. Thank you. I just learned a lot. I include all the forum members in my thoughts, especially those having a tough time. When I am feeling anxious in hospital, I have in the past asked for Chaplain to visit and when able visited the chapel for reflection and to give thanks for the marvelous work our doctors and nurses do.You are so correct in suggesting animals have an innate sense when we need some extra TLC. So hoping your kitten can work it's magic for you. 😻Best wishes from Australia 💜
