One as kitchen assistant and the other as shop assistant. What do they write in their references when there was little work in both places? Have to give two references, one given the other have to contact head office and they are hard to contact but left email and answer phone message

if you are in the UK then former employers have a legal duty to provide references. Usually these are extremely bland and will cover dates of employmnet and whether there were any formal disciplinary proceedings whilst you were working for them .
