I'm handicapped n Ive dealt with all kinds of people.
Some treat ya like you are contagious when u r far from it.
Some treat u like a alien,n not human.
I've seen parents pull there kids away from near me for fear they could land up like me.
I used to get mad n occasionally I get ticked off alittle BUT for me I just get super loud,no matter where I am n give it back to them.
I usually get the deer in the headlights look because they dont expect it.Oh well.
So I demand respect n wont tolerate anything else.
I bleed the same red blood anyone else does n I have a heart like everyone else too,so just because I'm in a wheelchair sometimes doesnt mean I should be treated different.
To be honest ..to all the ignorant people..ur just jealous Im freakin fabulous n u wish u were my friend,LOL LOL

That's why some years back I fired all my doctors and went a different path for med help.I think if we (disabled) stood up more to doctors n etc we would be treated better.Just my personal thought though.

I took all the courses in pain management and associated Chronic condition problems I have, generally I have given up discussing my health concerns after near on forty years of trying to explain what is wrong with me. Disability can in many ways make us strong as we work through our health problems. and mental health concerns.
Why would I want to discuss my condition with shallow people who are around me, Their shallow expectations in life do not really help us. Disability is character building something many fit people cannot understand. They may ask although never really understand. In their lives we are weak and a problem on Society in general.
What is expected of us, grin and bare it ???

Our life can become more intense if we can control our expectations in life in general
I now live for the day, yes I suffer pain and strees at least I know I am still alive and I enjoy those expectations I have as I look for positive not negative thoughts.
We are here to learn it would be horrible just to expect the negative part of life
Positive is a real positive way to look at life

Plenty of interests, Gardening, we have an orchard and we are busy picking fruit and pruning trees. We have a library and most are photographs of were we have been over the years. Our dog is a Border Collie Cross and is as bright as a button, He loves the beach. My interests a Geography and History so I always have a book next to my chair The fruit garden still producing so even that is very busy still.
