Yesterday I was dead heading and pruning back plants in the front garden.

I fell down cracking me head against the ground and cut up and bruised my face, I also have cuts over my face, this was the worst fall I have had and the impact broke my glasses and it seemed to have initially broke my shoulder, however I was lucky and it seems I have bruised my shoulder blade only. So I am back onto my Opiates again until the pain goes.

The problem is at sixty nine falling can be really bad with age and breaking bones bruising or bleeding can take a long time to get better. We become frightened of falling again and loose our confidence when bending, lifting and gardening.

So today I have been just sitting around, since banging my head My Head is swimming and have a terrible headache and a bump on my lower eye orbit caused by the glasses.

I have had a period of falling last year between Summer and Christmas. I was shook up yes, and had various cuts and bruises, however this time I crashed my brow with one hell of a wallop It really frightened me this time.

I see the nurse a week on Thursday for my injections, and the Opticion Thursday, hopefully they will fix my glasses, My old ones are not strong enough. I was supposed to get my eyes checked next week and a visit to hospital for tests of my eyes, Diabetes. All that has been pushed back until everything gets back to some form of normality

Sorry to read you have been in the wars. I presume they checked you for concussion as well, just worried that you still have a bad headache. I am sure Pax won't mind missing a walk in favour of his master being well again. Please take care of yourself and I hope things like your glasses are sorted out soon xxx

Hi Bob

Sorry to hear about your fall, I was doing that for a while and it turns out I was getting up to fast. So I take my time now, but forget now and then. It’s bad enough falling but breaking your glasses is a nightmare with all the time and appointments to get them fixed. And you are right it takes longer to heal as we get older. Take care Bob I know it sounds easy but I know it’s hard to keep thinking about doing everything slowly and safer.

I hope the opioids work for you and at least help your pain.

Regards

Eian
