Feeling low and alone

Cant seem to find an antidepressant that suits me. Dr swapped me onto steraline and since I've been feeling sick every day and I've got no energy and terrible mood swings. What was meant to help feels as if I'm worse than ever. Tried speaking to dr but she was no help. Feel I'm going down fast 😔😔

Sertraline can have that effect it should only last a couple of weeks have you tried taking it in the evening before bed instead that should help with the side effects. You are not alone!

Thank you for your reply. I've not tried taking it at night as I was worried it would keep me awake? And with me feeling so drained already 😔

I take it at night and I have many friends who do and it has never kept me awake. It can be so draining I understand so tiring to keep going but I believe in you. You had the confidence to post on this group you can do this. I suffer from anxiety have done for the last five years and I was close to giving up but with the correct support network I managed to get through some of the darkest days of my life.

How many medications have you tried, you need to allow five weeks for medications to work, if you keep changing drugs we all go through the list and can run out of medications to try. As we miss out and pass over the one that would have helped.

I think that you need to give your body 3 - 6 months to really get used to meds and really benefit from them. Worth hanging in there, maybe make sure you eat with them, and I swear by pro biotic, I find them a life saver in fighting against nausea x

What other meds? Other SSRI?

If so, and if you aren't responding after 4 to 8 weeks, then I would suggest asking to switch class. Of course, doctors aren't always helpful, but all you can really do is complain that X doesn't work and at some point if they don't take you off then they are into negligence territory.
