Switch from SSRI to mezapine due to insomnia anyone?

It may help. No reason not to try it.

Follow your Doctors advice, allow four or five weeks before you assess how you are getting on. Something to consider, when we go to bed to sleep, are you going to bed and getting up at the same time. Sometimes when we go to bed we think we are not sleeping when in affect we are sleeping it not in a lighter way, we think we are not sleeping when we are.

True, just really feels like my eyes are closed but my head is fully awake!!! They are def making me wired so need to try something else
Well you must have had some sleep as no one can go for 5 months without any! I have never heard of the meds you mention but it's definitely worth trying. I hope it helps you.
Hi, I was prescribed Mirtazapine for depression and anxiety, since taking it I can now sleep. It hasn't done much for the anxiety / depression but just being able to sleep is why I carry on taking it. Give it a go because not sleeping can be really debilitating.
Absolutley!!! Feel wired on a night cant carry on like this! The ssri has worked great for S&A but think sleep is worse for taking it, did u have many side effects when you started?
No, I haven't had side effects but the GP said if I want to come off it, it will have to be gradually, but I'm not in any hurry because I need to sleep. It's awful when you can't sleep I used to walk around my bedroom for a good part of the night because I couldn't relax and keep still. Good luck..
Hello
I took Fluoxetine 40mg (Iβm still on it) and Mirtazapine 15mg that is a below therapeutic dose= just for sleep together for 3 months. Now I can sleep without u, Iβm trying to come off. I really think Mirtazapine helped me fix my insomnia.
