Hi iv been on these antidepressents for nearly three weeks now and it’s been herendous I carnt sleep or eat I feel sick all of the time feel really anxious to the point were I carnt go out people keep saying it will get better but I’m not so sure it’s making me more depressed. I’m so scared just wondered if anyone else can help to make me feel a bit more hopeful. Thankyou.

Hi Lynsey - I'm responding to this with information that was recently spoken about in an eating disorder facility which I am currently in - PHP. (Partial Hospitalization Program) Based on what I learned in group, it takes about six weeks for new medications to kick in - however, it sounds like you have some valid concerns; and, rightly so. I would suggest that you reach out to your prescribing physician and talk to him/her about you concerns.

Hi Lynsey58. Sorry to hear about this,you certainly shouldn't be having such a hard time unless you picked up some kind of bug that is aggravating the side effects. Don't just suddenly come off them without seeing your doctor first though. I've been on Sertaline for 3 years now and I have never been keen on it but your symptoms sound awful. I do so hope you can get some help from your doctor xx

Consider giving the medication time to work, a further three weeks, then it will take time for the drugs to work
