Citalopram and back pain?

I have been taking citalopram for about 6 weeks. Just over two weeks ago, I woke up with a bad back. I assumed I slept on it wrong and I've just put up with it for the past couple of weeks but its getting worse. I thought to check the PIL today and it mentions back pain as an uncommon side effect. I also have a horribly bloated stomach and always feel like I need the loo so I've been treating it as a potential infection (lots of cranberry juice - usually works!) Has anyone else experienced this as a side effect?

I take this medication for depression, been on them now for about twenty odd years or so

I have problems with my spine etc, not related to the drug. Some side affects of medications listed on the leaflet enclosed in the box are very rare, treat as such and see your GP and get checked

Consider the age of your bed and mattress ten to twelve years it may need changing, also if the pillow is old a new on may be needed. We use Memory foam for both pillow and mattress, it seems to help both here, even the dog likes it.

Check your posture, there are sites on the web that may help, it could also be you are not sitting properly. Again if seating is soft and old, or sitting crouched up that can also cause problems.

Sometimes a bad back can be expensive, especially when it comes down to new furniture.

Posture and learning how to walk straight, lift or sit is less expensive
