Citraplan
Hi when took this medication I always took it first thing in morning.
Hi Susan135 and thank you for your post. You can take citalopram at any time of day, as long as you stick to the same time every day. If you have trouble sleeping, it is best to take it in the morning. It usually takes 4 to 6 weeks for citalopram to work. Like all medicines, citalopram can cause side effects in some people. Many people have no side effects or only minor ones. More information can be found on the leaflet inside the medication box. Please see your GP if you are experiencing side effects.

I hope this is helpful to you.
Thank you and best wishes.
My daughter takes it at 8pm as it helps her sleep better. I think it is trial and error, she tried taking it in the morning but was sleepy by 4pm and would fall asleep and wake up in the evening unable to get back to sleep and therefore her days became nights. It maybe the same for you, finding what works for you and your life style. Good luck.
P.s she does find it is the best medication she has been on for her needs as she has tried a few.
Hi Susan , I was on citalopram over a year . I used to take them as soon as I woke up because of I took them later it would disturb my sleep . But citalopram it’s only like a plaster , the side effects you’re going to feel dizzy , a bit confused and not really bothered by what it’s going on around you . Be aware if you take this you might need time off work so your body can get used to these drugs . After a year of battening with my depression and anxiety i decided out of my own will to stop taking them . I stopped in December , we are in February now but I’ve started to feel like I’m getting the taste of life again , with other help like therapy , and bar sessions . But still not 100% me , still feels a long way
hi Susan, I’m not an expert in this area if depression or anxiety medications.. but if I were you, I’d go back to my doctor and ask for a safer drug if possible. If you’ve tried other menthols of helping your depression and anxiety and didn’t work, then keep trying and maybe see what has worked for others with safer drugs? Please let your doctor know what your thinking.
