It's always like they're doing me a favor by pretending to understand what I'm going through and then just saying it's normal and everyone has it and not to make a big deal of it. Then they complain that I never ask them how they're doing which is true, because I'm always in a loop with my anxiety issues and don't think about the problems of others.

It's not about being a 'bad person' but about sentisitivity towards others. Mental health problems are notorious for making us selfish but sometimes by focusing on others can help you look outward rather than always inward. So ask them. x
You are not bad, if you suffer from diagnosed Depression, Anxiety many sufferers consider their own problems and concerns above all others. You become self centred.
If you learn and consider others problems you will find people will rise and help you.
Depression and Anxiety can become self fulfilling and we suffer more from that problem
Have you had any treatment or are you taking medication. Treatment and associated pathways allows the sufferer to take possible control of their illness. When push comes to shove it is generally up to the Patient to learn how to control their health concern
Ask you Mam and Dad how they are and allow them to talk. However as mentioned earlier you sound self centred
