how to deal with panic and stress??

i feel like i am spiraling out of control. i was put in charge to accomplish a major task for my college's event and it requires me to work with other people who i am not familiar with. i am terribly bad at socializing and taking control because i have no confidence in my capabilities. i am overthinking everything that could go wrong and i am terrified of disappointing my superior officers at the student council but i don't think i have a choice right now. my hands start to shake and i feel paralyzed whenever the president asks for an update. i feel so incompetent and incapable of holding any kind of responsibility. any tips on how to deal with this kind of anxiety? at this point at rather jump in front of a car rather than face my duties.

But remember this....

They know you are capable or they wouldn’t have put you there...

Even though you don’t think so...

And whatever the outcome it’s far better than jumping in front of a car for sure..there is an end date for the his project /event and it will all be forgotten very quickly aside from the good time or enjoyment people had..

Is it possible to speak to one of them to mention how you feel, sometimes knowing someone is aware of your anxieties can take a weight off, ..and I’m absolutly certain you will not be the first to feel this way about doing something such as this ..

Don’t be afraid to ask for help, some of those there to help you will love to help I’m sure ...

Relaxation Techniques like MINDFULNESS may help as will breathing Exercises.

You can find explanations on the Internet. There is also a book you can purchase on Amazon for £7;00.

If you have been chosen for some activity the higher ups must consider you are capable.

However knowing you suffer from Anxiety, you also need to understand those people within the group will most probably others who feel the way you do so you need to notice that and give encouragement to those. The main consideration is that you work as a group. Some will be better at one part of the task while others will consider themselves more adaptable to something else.

Understand you do have your own strengths where you can anticipate parts of the job you will be good at.

When it comes to gaining confidence with others we all have to get to know those around us, Part of this practice is getting to know those around you, Conversations do not need to be intense, all you need to do is listen and make suggestions, everyone has expectations try and discuss those and learn from experience and gain confidence in what you do
