Christmas, new years, and the ER are not a good combination.....

I had been fighting off afib and svt most of Christmas but two days after I caved in and went to ER,a place I hate. My heart was going 133 and I had chest pain so away I went The results were I am suffering from lack of sleep. The Dr. told me if I were on the street I would be arrested for being drunk. I was so shocked. She pointed out I was slurring my words , stumbling, the whole drunk routine . It's so embarrassing to have appeared this way with out being aware of it. No one in my family appears to have noticed . I will start with a sleep specialist and go from there. My heart was agitated also from lack of sleep. Some tines I will go 3-4 days without any sleep. more later, Pam

Hi sweetiepye can I just say please start to look after yourself your a good person I can call a friend so take it easy my friend! Listen to your doctors that's why they are there! Regarding the lack of sleep have you tried self hypnosis it may or not work try ebay! God bless you my friend david 🙏🙏

If you drink, heavy, hollow legs do fill up and our body becomes unbalanced, Given your health concerns you do need to reduce the amount you drink. Your body seems to have kicked back. I would hope by now you will be ok

Try Mindfulness at bedtime, also have supper about two to three hours before bed, your body will relax and hopefully you will feel ok

Remember a drunk can generally never tell another drunk is present.

I don't drink at all Bob. My Dr. meant that I am so sleep deprived that I act drunk. I don't do drugs either, only what's prescribed by my Doctors. How have you been getting on ? I am starting the New Year out as I mean to go on. I have two new to me Doctors and a sleep specialist lined up. I am also seeing a therapist to keep my attitude in check and stay positive . Pam

Best laugh I've had in a while. I guess that makes me a cheap date. No booze required to get me drunk.

Real Killjoy, LOL

Get sorted as soon as poss. Try and divert your thoughts when trying to sleep. Pre Warmed beds do help, Memory Foam Pillows support the neck and warm the head and neck. Memory Foam toppers or mattresses also warm up quickly as they take on your shape. Just a suggestion.

If the room is noisy that can also prevent sleep so Mindfulness or the Maxwell Technique can both help. The Maxwell Technique was used in Hospitals that can be problematic for noise. I use a mixture of Alexander Technique and Maxwell Technique if unable to sleep. There are various AD medications that act as a Sleeping Tablet if needed. I use same to increase blood supply and suppress nerve damage pain.

Hello Pam

Sorry I misunderstood I thought you had been baptising the baby, lol

You need to get your sleep sorted as soon as you can, are you dwelling on your Health Concerns, that may cause the lack of sleep ?. Mindfulness can help. Sometimes listening to soft music while awaiting sleep can also help, or even reading a chapter of a book.

I have been listening music, One of the groups I have been listening to is called the Gothard Sisters, they play musical instruments, including violins, Mandolin and Bodrums etc. It seems to help me. They also play selections of proper Carols and other popular Folk Songs from Scotland and Ireland etc. The only problem with them sometimes they perform various Irish dances. Just a suggestion. They have records and can be heard on YOU TUBE. They are an American group of three sisters, with lovely blonde hair strange in multiples of family members.

I have been bad with my Short Term Memory and this time of year I suffer from a great deal of Chronic Pain, so I try and not take to many medications. I also spend time here and other sites. Also reading and learning how to use our telescope. We have just been on a course to learn how to read the Sky etc. Still considering a Power Boat, if we get one it will be adapted for my disability. Life can be to busy if we choose it to be, Tonight I will be diving into my books, looking at pictures etc. And you ?

Hi Sweetiepye, I hope you are feeling better. As Satsuma has posted, please try to prioritise some relaxation for yourself. Mindfulness can help and when your sleep problems are addressed you will feel much better. Look after yourself. Thank you and best wishes.
