Hi there,
Welcome to our supportive community. You'll find folks are very willing to come alongside each other offer advice and support. Take time to familiarize yourself with our T & C's, Community Guidelines, as well as our Pinned Posts section which includes free mental health guides, and crisis support helplines.
In answer to your question, yes, nightmares and vivid dreams can be a side effect of Sertraline. Here is a link the eMC- Electronic Medicines Compendium you will need to put in a search for Sertraline and select which product is yours, then you will find both the pharmacological information and the easy-to-read/understand Patient Information Leaflet (PIL) a copy of which should be in your medicine box: medicines.org.uk/emc/search...
Also, have a chat with your pharmacist or GP about your medicines and how they are affecting you and they will note what you say, and hopefully reassure you that it's ok.
Hope this helps.
Best wishes,
MAS Nurse
I can't take Sertraline for that very reason. Even giving it 6 weeks I am extremely paranoid, hallucinations, and very very dark thoughts. I was put on it in January this year for a second term (my psychiatrist didn't believe me when I told him I couldn't take it) and spent 4 weeks under the care of the Crisis Team. Go back and have a chat with your GP / Mental health team / psychiatrist as it doesn't suit everyone. Take care xxx
