Having long periods of loneliness and feeling down.

Over the passed 3 years I have had long periods where I have felt alone and down. The smallest thing sets it of. Someone at work saying something the wrong way to me or me over thinking about general life. I feel like I have no one to turn to and speak to about these feelings and end up shutting the people that care about me out of my life. As quickly as this happens the smallest thing can make me euphoric and happy and want to fix everything in my life. I'm confused and feel like I'm all alone with these issues.

Hello and welcome Sullt to this caring and supportive community. You are not alone and all of us feel sometimes overwhelmed by what is happening in our lives. However on this community you are welcome to share your feelings with us, we don't judge. Perhaps you are suffering from depression, perhaps there has been a traumatic event in your life that has been difficult to cope with? As we do not have any further information from you, why not tell us more about yourself. Also have you considered talking with a friend how you are feeling, why not make an appointment to see your GP and discussing how you feel with them.

Some of our members can relate to this and I am sure will wish to respond to you.

Best wishes and take care.

Thank you for the response. Nothing traumatic has happened in my life. I have been feeling this way since going into my second year at uni. I left uni at the end of the year as I could not focus on my studies as I struggled to even go outside to my lectures anymore. I have recently sorted a lot out in my life and no have a stable job that I love but after a month at the job I struggle to get up in the morning and face the world. I walk round work putting on a smile but then just make an excuse to go to the bathroom and cry. I can not think of anything that would cause me to feel this way constantly. It is nice in a way to know I'm not alone.

Hello again, thank you for responding to me. I think maybe it's time to chat with the GP about how you are feeling. You haven't said how old you are, are you still a teenager may I ask?

Please think about sharing your thoughts and feelings with you Doctor and very best wishes on their way to you.

Can any of our members relate to this new member please?
