I have insomnia and due to how bad it is, I was started on mirtazapine. However, while this made me very drowsy and sent me off to sleep, it also caused me to start eating like crazy.
I have been switched to quetiapine BUT at 25mg it's not working at all? It seems to be making me less sleepy if that's possible

Hi Essie13 and welcome to the forum. I am sorry to hear you are experiencing these problems. I think it would be advisable to see your doctor again to discuss this as the dosage of your medication may need to be adjusted. Some people who have insomnia often find that keeping a sleep diary helps, allowing the person to see some pattern in their sleep/waking time. Do any other members of the forum have any experience of insomnia, please? Please post on here if you can help with Essie13's query. Thank you and best wishes.
Hi there, I would agree with the other respondent. It's maybe best to go back to your doctor about this. I have taken mirtazapine and it didn't help me sleep or make my hungry or make me less depressed!
I take quietiapine now at 200 mg and some people say this is a knockout dose but I find I still don't sleep so we are all individual and react differently. 25mg is a low dose but I heard somewhere that quietiapine works best at a low dose in terms of solving insomnia. Gemma X
