Recently I fractured my knuckles repeatedly hitting my hand Trying to get control over food and feelings, as my previous methods I couldn’t keep up. How do you control the anxiety?
Hello mn15
Thank you for your post. It sounds as if you are in a tricky place at the moment.
It may be worth leaving the food for the Halloween party and having a chat with a supportive person. Do you have a family member or friend that you can talk things over with?
This is a supportive community, so other members may have more support and information for you.
You might also want to see your doctor or a health care worker if you have one if things are becoming too much for you.
If you look at the pinned posts to the right there are crisis support helplines that you can contact.
In the topics there is self help information.
Do take care and keep in touch
Learn to breathe. One method is when you start feeling anxious is to do dragon breathing. Exhale first, empty your lungs, then breathe in through your nose and fill your lungs completely, hold for a count of 10 then breathe out to a count of 8. Repeat 4 times. Scientifically proven to lower cortisol levels and helps with anxiety. Also check out DR Kim Deramo on you tube and he method for keeping anxiety in check.
