I feel like I’m suffering too much to live but I’m too scared to die, and I don’t know what to do about it

I was at my lowest point about 3 months ago but Imanaged to pull myself out. Thats the key and I found it the hard way. I knew I couldn't end myself for the sake of family, but I couldn't remain feeling like I need to end it. You have to find and have the willpower to do it. You have to pull yourself out of that state of mind and seek professional help. Once you get there you're blessed mate. It's not easy but help is out there.

Many of us have been there, and being too scared to die is a very good reason to keep living. Are yopu having any help or support at the moment - from friends/ family/ professionals? If so it would be worth seeing if they can help you think of small steps you could make that would help you to gradually start to feel better. This will be different for different people. If at the moment you aren't motivated to do anything, it may be doing something really small that will help you to start doing things again. This is called behaviour activation and is known to help If you aren't on medication from the doctor some people find supplements helpful - but do not take st johns wort if you are on an antidepressant as they both have similar effects and can cause problems.

Going outside and doing exercise both can help - perhaps a friend would meet up with you for a short walkl and coffee?

If you aren't sleeping then perhaps this is contributing to you not feeling great and might be something you can get help with.

The main thing is to try and be open with others about how you are feeling and trying to build a support network around yourself so that you are not having to fact it on your own. This forum is part of that and so many of us can relate and will support you through it as you get better.
