In bed listening to the thunder and rain. No where to go, no one to see, nothing to get up for, no motivation.

Hi manfy, welcome to this community if this is your first time on here. Hmm, sounds like you are struggling today. Some days are like this, when there seems to be no motivation to get going. It may help if you can give us a bit more information. Hopefully you will find folks here who have experienced the same as you and can come along side you. You are not alone. Take baby steps today. In the next hour, break the inertia, by setting mini goals in 10 mins slots: Get up, have a shower, put some brightly coloured comfy clothes on, have a something to eat and drink. Maybe watch a bit of TV. Call or text a friend to see if they can pop in for a visit. When it stops raining, go for a short walk round the block, or to a café or in a park, just get some fresh air, and focus on what other people are doing around you, or nature. Your mind can't think of two things at the same time. Break the cycle of negative thought pattern. If you've not tried Mindfulness, take a look at these free resource links. Just breathing in and out slowly, focusing on your breath, staying in the present moment and not letting your thoughts wander can help:

Hi Manfy, it's very hard to get yourself motivated when you feel as you do. If you stay where you are in all likelihood your thoughts will become more negative and your mood will spiral downward. If you can, and I believe you can, move into a different space/room, have a cup of tea or coffee then 'jump' into the shower. Bitesize chunks that become manageable. Take them one at a time and look no further ahead than the next bitesize chunk. Once you have showered and dressed then you can decide what you do next. I think it would be beneficial if you could manage a walk outside and get some fresh air. Try and smile at people and say hello (even if you do not feel like it) you do not have to say anymore, just carry on. Then, if you can treat yourself to something special for tea. I know it's hard Manfy, especially with the loss of your precious daughter, but you have to try to look after yourself and learn to be kind to yourself. One day at a time Manfy, one day at a time. Just for today I will............ I wish you well Manfy, take care and have an ok day,

Lottie x
