Trying to get support
Usually psychiatric problem hits adolescents while attaining puberty.this is because of lack of sex and adolescent education.if the problems sustains even after adolescence,it can never be diagnosed by family people.if there is some other problem with he can't express out, proper psychiatric counselling and treatment is necessary
I concur with the hit-and-miss comment there about finding professional support. I have already been through 4 psychiatrists since the beginning of this year alone. It is a part of the process cause you want to make certain that the person to help take care of your son's brain is not only competent but respectful enough to treat him as a human being throughout.
I cannot stand people who think that having a mental illness somehow equates to one being a retard.
also found the same we were left in the woods so to speak months between appointments they do not know enough about the brain to help anyhow 25years have tried to get real help none available also the waiting time is deplorable and you can not go to a mental health clinic when things are desperate like if you hurt yourself and went to a hospital they turn you away that is why the suicide rates keep going up NO REAL HELP
Yes, I think many will agree with you about the support being hit and miss. Of course, as a parent you don't and won't give up and persistence is required, even though sometimes you feel depair. We have found support groups, where you can share your experiences with others in a similar position, very useful.
He has his diagnosis just no treatment ! Pills yes but no therapy as the mental health hospital doesn't do therapy . I could laugh except it's not funny .
