Hi Rachelej

Welcome to the site, we are all friendly & supportive here & not here to pass or make judgements!

Well done for posting on the site that's Your first step forward! Is Your job the only thing that is causing you to feel depressed at the moment? Or is life giving you a hard time in other areas?

Sorry for all the questions it just helps us to get to know you a little bit better & understand where you're coming from!

Sorry to hear you're having a rough time with your boss! Do you have a formal medical diagnosis of depression or anxiety? Or both?

Does your boss or employer know this? If they do they need to make sure you are treated fairly as depression & anxiety are classed as disabilities &!now come under the Disability Discrimination Act, which means they have to abide by certain rules & regulations! Including making reasonable adjustments for you! Do you have a Union where you work, as they can be really helpful in cases like yours!

This also means that jobs you apply for that you can mark on your interview form that you have a disability! There are also certain jobs that you can apply for & because you are disabled you are guaranteed an interview!! Just incase you weren't aware!

Take Care sending Warm Wishes & Hugs to cheer you 🤗🤗🤗 spykey

Hi there

We have no union unfortunately and the ofice manager sucks up to the boss and is good friends with him so havent got a chance, I think its work that is my main issue, money too but suppose thats life.

Im 45 but lately I find im going home from work and falling asleep at 6, this is due to being depressed, I started taking citalopram 3 weeks ago, so hopefully these should kick in soon.

I have got an interview with a recruitment agency next tuesday so maybe something else may come up soon.

Its good to be on this sight and see that Im not alone xxx

Hi rachelej

No you are not alone or on your own in this! Sorry your boss is pally with his boss! You must feel pretty stressed & lonely out them with all that going on & trying to work & keep your head down at the same time! No it's not life, not acceptable and it shouldn't be happening!

How big is your company? Do you have an HR department??

I went through this with a govmt department I worked for a few years ago & it's not easy even with big firms! I'm getting the feeling you want to jump & get out ASAP before you are pushed or ground down cos it's bringing you down & exhausting you so much! Have you had any time off sick or any time out from your job? If you did take sick, would you get paid?

How long have you been working at the company? Do you have any colleagues that you get on with who are not best pals with your boss or his boss?!? Or even colleagues going through the same thing?

You said you've got an interview with a job agency next Tuesday? Have you got the day off or just said you have an appointment to your boss? Could you contact your Dr it CAB to see if you get an appointment on the same day to advise you? As you are out of the office anyway?? Have you told your Dr how bad it really is & not just been palmed off with pills that take time to work, and otherwise there's not much he can do for you? If you haven't Please tell him how bad it really is & ask him what support can you get or is he understanding & may suggest some time off to get your head together & the medication kicks in!

Unfortunately some medications can sometimes take a while to work! Have you been offered counselling or any talking support from your GP or given the number of other organisations that might be able to help?

I understand about needing the money & why you feel you have to stick it because of this! But you still have a right to be treated with respect! You have a worth too despite what your boss says!

Does your office work on a target basis, are you managing to keep up with your work/targets and having to deal with that being a pressure along with every thing else! You are still young work wise & you shouldn't have to be basically be bullied & ostrosised if I dare to say!

I'm really Sorry to ask so many questions, it just helps us to get to know you & understand circumstances that bit more!

We are here for you, please keep posting & we will do all we can to try & support you!

Take Care sending You Warm Wishes & Hugs 🤗🤗🤗 spykey

I know the feeling I was bullied. I may be treated differently now as my partners ill. Sad really. I've looked at this at work etc too. I may reply slowly because of my fatigue. Thinking of you, TC.
