Yesterday, I went horseback riding for the first time in like two months. I rode a beautiful girl named April and for 45 minutes I never once thought about my past abuse and being homeless didn't seem so important.

Hi There

That is brilliant news, hopefully many more hacks to come.

Hold on to that great feeling, but not too tight as there will be another one.

Thanks for the update, Matt

Youre welcome and thank you :)

Hi Iluvhorses, so lovely to read your post! I also adore horses, and indeed started riding at the age of 8 yrs, now an oldie lol at 63! But despite so many struggles partic with depression I am still here! And only started going back to my riding in about April/May this year after about 9 yrs away from it.

It really does blow away the cobwebs, and of course you see so much from the back of a horse, nature etc! I have to psyche myself to go, due to go this coming Sunday. So cross your fingers for me. Once I am up and on my steed lol an ex show jumper 18 yrs called 'Spin' I am ok. I just go for a hack if you know what I mean, in Worcestershire, UK. Then I know I will feel invigorated when I get home.

So I am so glad that YOU went and you have helped me be determined to go this weeekend! Love xxxx

So good to compare notes on our beautiful 4 legged pals! Aren't they gentle as well. ❤️😍

Im glad i was able to help you :). I had a great lesson besides showing up late lol. I felt great afterwards and cant wait to go back on Tuesday. Just the name "April" reminds me of springtime. Shes around 19 years old and a former hunter jumper. Anyway enjoy your ride this Sunday!

Hi back to you, thanks for responding! x do you live in the U.K.? 😀🏇🏇

Would love to go back someday. Maybe a ranch lol 🏇🏇 xx

I went to London and North Devon. It was great! I was actually in London during the 2006 World Cup soccer tournament.

That's great news. Keep going if it helps you. I used to love horse riding but not done it since a kid x
