Any advice to stop self harming? 😁 my parents have no idea I'm probably depressed because I have not got a diagnosis...πŸ˜”

I have self harmed twice now... 😱 , once with scissors when I was really down, upset and I was crying. I also cut my leg with a razor yesterday πŸ˜“πŸ˜°πŸ˜¨πŸ˜±

But my parents don't know so how can they help me?... 😢

You don't say what age you are, if you can you need to speak to your parents or at least one of them, if you can't do this please go and see a Doctor to get some help, often just telling someone helps.self harming will only make things worse as although it makes you feel better at the time, you then add stress from hiding what you have done, please talk to someone as soon as possible x

having also had a daughter that self harmed its great that you have stuck your neck out like this and asked for advice.It could be you feel that there is something missing somewhere,something not quite right,things just seem too much,and in life thats normal for all of us...a technique used before was instead of physical pain to quell the anger try to force yourself to pick a name at random,then work out what position each letter is in the alphabet,add the numbers up and find the answer,then chose another word,a bit longer this time,as I understand it the same part of the brain that tells us things are not right also controls complex questions,try it you never know,and again remember we all feel down,we all have problems,you are one of us,not different in any way at all...good luck hun

I agree with Kirsty, you need help now. You sound very young, if your parents knew I am certain they would be very upset. Please go to the doctor and seek help. We are all worried about you on the site, we all want to help but we are not professionals, there is a reason you are like this and you are the only one who knows why. Go and get help so you get better quickly😊😊😊😊

Asha if you are still at home I guess you may be in college?

There should be a counsellor you can talk to or you could maybe try child line

Do you have a friend who would go with you and maybe sit outside if you see the Dr?

I do hope you can get the. Courage to go to the next step

It is very hard to admit there is something wrong sometimes but please try ans talk to a professional

We feel for you but we are not experts

There may be no reason you can find for what you do but an expert wil have seen many people in your situation

Hi,

I really feel for you as im in the same boat. I do hope we can get through this together.

Have you thought of someone you can talk to? The emotional pain may be unbearable but see if you can do some sport.

Im currently off of work with my Depression and staying at my grandparents as I can go for lots of country walks here. You may think, how is excercise going to ease the pain? But having a nice view is so therapeutic, you may be able to think things through more. When i've been able to have a stroll some ideas have popped in to my mind that I would never of thought of being back home. Doing sport you can really get out all of that frustration, is there anywhere you can access a excercise bike? I use my grandmas and whenever i suddenly get an anxious thought I pedal faster to distract myself from the pain and temptation to cut myself and it seems to actually work as soon the thought passes.

I really would tell an adult, it may sound scary but it sounds although you need a little bit of support in this dark patch. Have you heard of italk? its a self - refferal counselling service. Its suprisingly common so don't be afraid to contact them, people of all ages benefit from them and 1 in 3 of us have a low patch in life.
