I am guilty of not looking after myself and looking after my family instead. I have become so use to this and now find it hard to take time out.

I just want to say that I keep struggling, going backwards instead of forwards, although I do help my family members out, so this is good!
Take some time out for yourself xx get a massage, have a sleep in, go for a walk. Go have fun! Make a time each week for you

I think a lot of us are guilty of this, but really you need to look after yourself, as well as family, and do things just for you, that you really like doing, doing this on a regular basis will make you a lot happier and more able to cope with what life throws at you. Good Luck. Annette
Do your family try to make you feel bad about taking time for yourself? If not, then remember, if you do not look after yourself you will not always be fit to look after others. It is not selfish to keep yourself healthy and happy. If they do, then I sympathise, but you should try to do it anyway.
Yes it is hard for me to take time out because I am looking out for a family member with bipolar. However it should be time for me. He is handling things with medication. But he is still vulnerable when it comes to relationships.
But I do need a holiday. So I'll think of a way. And it does need to be soon. Thank you.
