There are helicopters everywhere, on the radio they said they had taken 3 fundamentalists in to court, I think it was 3 and that there were a number of helicopters around as it was seen as a security risk.

I was getting a bit overwhelmed about my life, how could I have created these awful situations I have now. When I heard the helicopters over my house it made me realise, my reality isnt even a 10th as bad as those boys. Whatever they thought they were doing the courts will throw the book at them. They must be so scared and how did they manifest such a mess in their lives.

I do wish fundamentalists would just F' OFF their premis is always the same, its for the greater good, but it isnt. The people they impose their rules on dont have a say, why do they think we all want the same.

It angers me that in an era of free information (so no one really has the excuse of blind stupidity) these people and I mean ANY fundamentalists from any religeon and they all have them, think its a good idea to force people to hail their views. Its very upsetting, that people should actively seek violence, hatred, inhumanity for a cause which in global terms only a handful of people believe in. If they were so right they would let the people choose, but their arguement I presume is we are all too stupid to make the right decision.

I know Im over simplifying but where will this all end! And those poor protesters in China.

Hi Caroline how I wish I lived in London again. At least there was always something happening. I lived there through all the bomb scares and actually heard the NatWest bomb go off at home. I was there through the Kings Cross fire (I used to go there to get my tube home and walked through the ticket office which got burnt down). I missed it by 2 hours - omg! Scary but at least I felt I was living there instead of vegetating in the back of beyond. coughalot xx

Remind me where you are now young lady and we shall weave wonderful fantastical tales :-) Reality isnt all that!

I was just having a winge. I'd now like to add Oscar Pastorius 10 months!?

I think criminals of any kind should suffer the same fate, on an alternate roster they should be made to spend , weeks, months maybe even years if appropriate (but I dont think they would last that long)

A) stuck in a room with 2 & 3 year olds and then

b) With very old people who are super grumpy and or hard of hearing.

Our re-offending rate would drop to its lowest ever :-) Harsh maybe but for extreme crimes ....fair.

xx

Hi Caroline,

I see from another post it's your birthday around now - hope you had a good day.

As for the things going on around you, it's true some events make us feel our troubles are small by comparison. But as my dad always said comparisons are odious. Those fundamentalists who create havoc in the world I believe they are searching for something. I believe they feel lost, alone and vulnerable. This makes them perfect targets for people who are just downright violent and hide behind religion. I believe the minority behind the extremists in any religion are toxic people who can't deal with society norms.

This is a heavy and very emotional subject. I doubt we could resolve it, these types of conflicts have been going on for centuries. The problem today is there are more highly destructive weapons available. Still, I live in hope that we will see peace in my lifetime.

Have a good weekend and again 'Happy birthday!'

Catherine.
