...what was the object of this stunning gem of advice? Do you really think he is going to put his hand to his brow and gasp: 'Gosh, thank you so much, I hadn't thought of that. Thanks goodness you told me; I'll just go off and sort myself out and then everything will be fine'?

Ha ha ha. You could use that one about quite a few things like if you are a smoker and you have a cough. Someone says have you ever thought of giving up? Doh.

when my friend was told
