This day will have different meaning and evoke different feelings for us all, i'm sure.
Wishing everyone a peaceful day whatever their situation. x

Especially you Nikki, and thanks for the lovely thoughts. I am not a mother but I am lucky I still have a mother and have somewhere to go so I am grateful for that and me too I know this is an emotional day for many.
What I would say to those who are finding it emotional in a negative way. IT IS JUST ONE DAY, and tomorrow is another and the feelings will not be as intense. Hold on, it will pass and tomorrow hopefully we will all still be here to say hello to each other on the forum.
So Please take care all. XXX
Strictly speaking it is Mothering Sunday - a celebration of motherhood in all its forms.
It was also one of the few days in the year when 'child' workers were aloud to take time off to spend with the family.
I'm one of those for whom it has a lot of negative connotations but that is more to do with the the way it has become commercialised into a day to fuss over your mother. That isn't how it started out ... though it had become that by the time I was born.
Wish everyone well.
Yeh I'm not a big fan of the commercialism either. It makes the day so hard for those who don't have mums around. Hope you have a lovely day Nikki, you deserve it x
Thanks. I often hear my mum's voice in my mind when I think of her, its a good memory.x
you too
