I want to wish everyone a lovely day, whether you are into this day or not.

Enjoy the day and maybe take the time out to sit down and relax

With a nice coffee and a lovely chocolate.

Thanks Hannah, Happy Valentines day to you too. Hope you have had a good day. My day was ok but I saw our business manager at the end of the day to discuss my contract at work. It is due to finish in April but I thought that was just a formality so didnt think about it but she just told me that my contract has been extended until May then after that I will not have a job! She didnt make it easy telling me so I couldnt believe what I heard. It seems so unfair.

I already feel low so this has really set me back again. I dont know what to do.

Sorry to burden you with problems.

Really sorry to hear about this.

Is it a question of the post disappearing in May because of lack of funds?

Guess you probably just want to forget about it - hope you can manage to do that and enjoy the weekend with the family.

Yes the post is disappearing due to lack of funds. Dont know why its my job. Really confused. Hope its not due to my mental health. My boss is aware of that issue. Ive got the week off as its half term. I work in school as a teaching assistant.

I will try not to think about it.

Thanks Hannah - hope you had a good day.

I spent most of the day working on reconciling some payroll reports from Belgium - can really understand why Belgium is a swear word in Hitch-hikers Guide. Only Belgium could have invented a payroll system that is that complicated! Guess it kept me out of trouble ... and a bit surprised that I managed to sustain that level of concentration as energy levels have been getting really low recently.

Managed to get a short evening run in the dry ... and I bought some new ankle socks this week and they are really nice - first time I've worn them today ... so a bit of pampering.

Hi Gambit.yes Belgium I can imagine.Good for you getting your run in.

Were you affected by the floods, Dublin was fine really. Oh for Summer days.

Have a good weekend.

live in the Thames Valley but a long way from old father Thames himself - though have had disruption from flooding near Oxford affecting journey to work. There are areas of Oxford that have always flooded - what can you expect if you build on a flood plan - but looks like some of the worst flooding is happening in different areas. Worked from home a couple of days this week which cut down on the disruption but it will probably be back with a vengeance next week.

Find it comforting that Network Rail now has the teeth to force all the companies that run services to pool resources and run shuttle services through affected areas - so much more efficient than everyone trying to do their own thing which was what was happening a number of years ago. Know a lot of people will complain about it being chaos but actually I think they are doing a decent job - guess people are also a lot more impatient these days - okay so you can't rely upon the time but eventually you will get there ... and if it wasn't floods it would be ice and snow ... sometimes pessimism has its advantages :)

Happy Valentine's day everybody. I've been single since as far as I can remember, so I tend to use this day to show myself a little love. Maybe buy myself a little something. Maybe put a minute aside to remind myself of some of my positive and redeeming qualities. I'm a firm believer in not being able to love someone else unless you're able to love yourself first.

Anyways I'm off to buy a a gaming Pc. Lucky me !!!
