what sort of music is it?

is it there all the time and it's just that you only think about it and notice it at certain times because at other times you are busy noticing other sounds. Just say that because I have mild tinnitus and most of the time I filter it out completely and just don't notice it.

Tinnitus is generally caused by the way the brain interprets your own pulse - my tinnitus is a sort of rushing noise but the fact that it has a rhythm to it means that it can sound like music to other people.

when you hear the music is it loud or is it like there is something going on in the background?

At first I thought it was from next door a swalls are thin and can hear them speaking then realised it was not.

Once I thought I could hear talking and music, went into my sons bedroom and he was sound asleep. Told my doctor and he said it could be a side effect from the propanolol for anxiety which I was taking at the time.

Is it possible that the doctor might have been asking because he thought it was a side-effect of your medication? May be you could ask him if he asks you again.

Whether its tinnitus, a side effect of medication or something else, if it isn't interfering with your ability to live your life, then I don't think it is worth worrying about.

I almost compulsively hear /play music in my head when I am really anxious or upset. I make it fill all the places in my mind so nothing else can be there. I did not start this habit on purpose and it's very difficult to shut off or control.
