I had inguinal hearnia surgery august of last year, since then, my right testicle became twice the size of normal, hard and painfull. Doctors are unsure as to what it is. I was sent for an ultrasound which came back as no swelling and was referred to the urologist. The pain went down. Almost a year on, I still have an enlarged testicle, pain has started to come back and I am still yet to hear from the urologist. Any advice?

Testical swelling
Back to the drs. They'll have thought you're fine. Time to be the squeaky wheel...The fact that the pain has returned should make them take interest.
I agree with Omniscient1 . Don’t wait to hear from the urologist. Pester your GP. Something is definitely not right!
hi, you say you had a hernia op done? I ask as I had a groin hernia operated on when I was 7. Fast forward to my 30s I discovered a lump on my left testical. When I was examined by a dr. She asked if I Hampden a hernia operation. I to,d her about my childhood hernia. The lump relates to that. Apparently some tissue comes loose after surgery. In my case that wondering tissue ended up on my left testical creating a lump.
Never had any pain though. Nowadays I get a bit of testicular pain yet, both are normal size and nothing out of the ordinary.
Worth seeing the doctor again. Most be something like… inflammation.
Thanks for the advice, I shall be going back to the Dr's. Regarding inflammation, my last ultrasound on it showed no inflammation.
Back in the early 90s, I had a similar situation. After some sexual play involving inserting things in the penis, I must have created an infection of sorts. It wasn't in my urethra or bladder but my right testicle swelled to about twice it's size. It was really sore. I went to a clinic where the triage doctor grabbed it and started squeezing it to which I let him know not to do that anymore. He wanted to send me to a urologist so I explained to him what happened and could I just get an antibiotic and he agreed. The infection cleared and the swelling went down. That testicle is still more sensitive to the touch and there is a small hard lump on top of it. Here is some text from several different articles I found from a Google search.
Epididymitis is where a tube (the epididymis) at the back of the testicles becomes swollen and painful. It's often caused by an infection and is usually treated with antibiotics. If the testicles are also affected, it may be called epididymo-orchitis.
Inflammation of the tube at the back of the testicle that stores and carries sperm.
Epididymitis is often caused by a bacterial or sexually transmitted infection.
Pain and swelling in the testicle are common.
Treatment usually is antibiotics. Rarely, pus may need to be drained or part or all of the coiled tube may be surgically removed.
