I will be working in the UK on a one-year VISA, and I have paid into the NHS for that year. I take tamsulosin and don't think I will be bringing a year's worth. Is it over the counter in the UK now? I do have a local health care professional there so presumably it can be prescribed in need be.
Thank you

If by saying you have local health care professional you mean you have registered with a GP you can get Tamsulosin prescribed as a monthly repeat prescription and pick them up from your nominated Pharmacy.
I agree with Prance , the only comment I would add is my GP said he could not put the prescription on “repeat “ until I had had both a PSA test and Urinary Tract Ultrasound Exam. (Which pre covid happened fairly quickly).
I have a batch prescription for Tamsulosin, issued by my GP. This means that my local pharmacy has the paperwork for monthly supplies of the medication for about 6 months at a time. No need to return to the GP until the batch prescription runs out.
