I can remember being in school and thinking that that person was old( over 50)…only now to realise that I’m that age. Things do ache, shoulders, knees etc, but what is old age now?
I don’t consider myself middle aged, being only 53, things still work ( in the bedroom department ), but I now have to think more about my health, mental as well as physical.
Any tips on ageing like a cool dude would be highly appreciated
Cheers guys

I suppose it depends on who you ask. If you ask a 17 year old you will get one answer. If you ask me, at 60, you are gong to get another answer.
I look at my late father. He crept along pretty active through his 70's and I don't think he thought much of it. He was a heart patient from his late 40's, thank you Philip Morris, but too it I stride. I don't think he really felt ages impact until his early 80's. A good model to follow.
Sorry for being boring, but “everything in moderation “ seems to be the best answer. I’m 65 and I’ve always gone through life thinking someone who was 20 years older than me was “old”. I may have to revise that soon.
I'm 80 and I'm old. What I wouldn't give to be 53 again. Here's my list of doctors: PCP, urologist, gastroenterologist (had to look that up 🤔), dermatologist, pulmonologist, cardiologist, vascular surgeon, orthopedist, retinologist.

And yet, I FEEL good. I still walk (Nordic walking) every morning (weather permitting), exercise on a stationary recumbent bike twice a day, work out with a couple of 8 lb. dumbbells, and use one of those 'spring resistant hand exercisers'(?) to work forearm muscles. I've had muscle and bone loss from ADT, plus the full blown boobs, belly, and butt gynecomastia.
I try to stay on a low carb diet, eat very few canned or processed foods, and fast for 16 hours a day, from 8:00 PM till the following noon.
I strive to maintain a sense of humor about life in general and my 'ailments' in particular.
I guess old age could be viewed as something connected to loss of ability to do the things we would like to do and advanced years. For me it came suddenly in 2013 when I had an accident causing spinal injury, paralysis from my shoulders down, spasticity and double incontinence. I was a few weeks short of 65 and certainly did not feel old the day before it happened. I am not sure whether or not I am old now. I have none of the other ailments often associated with old age.
Scotty health, old age is a state of mind. I am 61 and still think of myself as young. I have the typical aches and pains. I make a soft groan when I first stand. I am having most of the typical issues a man of my age will have. However, I am still relatively active and enjoy life. I enjoy interacting with adults half my age. You are only old if you decide you are old.
It's all relative to be sure. But I think a lot has to do with who you associate with and what you do all day. My sister in law retired in her 50's. Now 65 she is around fellow retirees and all they talk about is medical issues. I'm 60 and still working. Most of our friends are in their 40's and 50's raising kids and moving up in their career. I feel young associating with them. Yes, I realize i'm 60 but mentally I don't feel much different than I did when I was 40
i'm 73 - walk dogs up and down hills of san francisco - also have a terminal cancer - yupadoodles no time like the present to walk those hills and see the trees rather than the forest
