Hard strip of skin in butt crack

Hi all, pretty new to this type of thing. So I noticed what I thought was a lump right in the middle of my butt crack it's about 3 inches in length. The doctor looked and he seemed to think it was some kind of hardened skin and gave me some cream. It feels like a strip of hard skin and if I use toilet paper to rough it will bleed. Just wondered if anyone else has had this or knows of it?

Thanks
