Right me and my fiancé had last had sex on the 4th December, haven’t had sex since due to personal reasons, but her period was on the 27th November and finished on the 1st and we had sex 3 days later, 2 weeks later which brings us to today she is now bleeding very lightly down there not like a normal period to me this is far to early to be a period ... and it’s a pinky discharge... could it be implantation bleeding?? I’m a bit concerned so any help would be appreciated thanks

Well it started Sunday night it’s now Tuesday ...

Take opinion of a gynecologist. May be it an extended period. But you have to be sure whether missed abortion can happen, in case pregnancy happened. Everybody will advise rest for observation. Did you test her urine for pregnancy ?

No not yet people say too early ?

Okay :(

Have you actively been trying to conceive? How much discharge/blood has there been?

Chris3108 profile image
Chris3108 in reply to

Yes we have been but we stopped during the summer and then last time we had sex was the first time I cummed in her for ages, and there’s not much blood not

Like a period it’s like discharge with Pinky blood in It

She should see her gynaecologist as early as possible. Any unexplained vaginal bleeding needs to be investigated.

She doesn’t have one ??

Michalbaner profile image
Michalbaner in reply toChris3108

Does she have a GP? They will refer her. If she doesn't have a GP it would be good idea to register with the nearest NHS clinic.

Chris3108 profile image
Chris3108 in reply toMichalbaner

You think it’s something serious then ?

Michalbaner profile image
Michalbaner in reply toChris3108

I am not a doctor to diagnose but am sure that there should not be a bleeding outside of her period. It does not have to be serious, could be some local trauma after the intercourse. You said it's been 2 weeks now and hasn't stopped?

Chris3108 profile image
Chris3108 in reply toMichalbaner

No it’s been two weeks since we had sex 😂the bleeding started yesterday ...

Chris3108 profile image
Chris3108 in reply toMichalbaner

And it’s not even like proper blood yesterday was pink discharge today it’s brown discharge ...

Michalbaner in reply toChris3108

ah, I see. Yes, its actually possible that there was an implantation and it was now lost. But again, hard to tell without assessment. Keep an eye out for it. If it continues, push her to see her GP.

Chris3108 in reply toMichalbaner

Okay.. what do you mean by lost how can it be lost ?!

Chris3108 profile image

Chris3108 profile image
Chris3108 in reply toTedboyg

Read what Michael has said ^ saying it’s been lost .. wtf ?

in reply toChris3108

Bleeding could be a sign of an early miscarriage. That is what he meant.

Ok so you had sex on day 7 of the cycle. That is very early and likely ovulation had not occurred. So the chance of fertilisation is low. Women sometimes get unexplained bleeding.

I'm not a gynaecologist , but I'm not sure that "implantation bleeding " is very common at all. A quick google - perhaps 1/3 of women, and even that is disputed. Brown discharge is old blood changed by vaginal acidity. If in doubt, a pregnancy test 3 weeks from the expected ovulation time should be conclusive ( so 3 weeks from now )

I feel that "missed abortion " or describing things as "lost" are extremely unlikely given the time in her cycle you had sex.

we will try a test on weekend and then again a week later... it’s just weird how if it is her period she has come on this early ... was only two weeks ago! It’s crazy! I wish she was pregnant :( been trying a year!!!

Galen70 profile image
Galen70 in reply toChris3108

After one year of trying , you can then approach your GP for fertility investigations on the NHS. Average time to conceive is 8 months. It may not be an actual period - women can have many different causes for bleeding.

Chris3108 profile image
Chris3108 in reply toGalen70

So what shall we do?

Chris3108 profile image
Chris3108

Her period started on the 27th November and her period ended 1st December and we had sex 3 days later .. so it would of been 8 days ... and apparently sperm can stay up inside for 3-7 after being ejsculated???

Galen70 profile image
Galen70 in reply toChris3108

Yes but ovulation usually is days 14-16. You had sex day 8. The numbers of viable sperm by day 15 would be low. There is not zero chance of conception but it is low. If bleeding persists , then GP assessment, smears up to date, sti screening , exam ( cervical polyps ) etc. But often no cause found.

So we just wait ?

Apparently something is wrong down there. Since this hasn’t happened in the past, and you are not doing something different. I would have her contact her doctor. Did you all of Sutton grow a bigger penis? If not have it checked out before having sex again. Keep me posted as to what you find out

Good Luck

Birth control can cause a irregular menstrual cycle.
