Dislocated kneecap

Yesterday in rugby I dislocated my kneecap it was put in place by the fire brigade it was bandaged up in hospital but my question is how long will it take to heal and how long do I need to use crutches

My came out when I was playing golf standing in mud so fell over,put it back in myself and carried on playing golf after half hour or so

Was this your first time dislocating it?

Yes it was ,but I now am very awear of how and what I am standing in /on to stop it happening again

People do say its sore and painful for the first then pain will decrease if happens again

I dislocated mine couple of years ago had to wear a cast for 3 weeks then went to recovery practice because the muscle went pretty weak.Uts gonna hurt and be swollen first week or 2 but it will get better.Be really careful because i was told that once you dislocate it there is a big chance you can again
