Hi,I have been having sharp stabbing pain on left side of foreskin.Penis looks normal, there is no pimple, bump, nothing seems stuck,I looked closely.

It is hard to find spot/area where it hurts when I tried to squeeze or push on skin.Problem started after I took shower after getting my hair cut short,so I thought that some hair got stuck in my skin, but I saw none.

Please what could it be? Thanks

Good question. If there's no obvious bumps or nodes, it's probably referred nerve pain from sciatica, or a lower spinal injury? Could also be a mild form of PFD, or prostatitis if we're checking off the referred pain possibilities. Are you circumcised, was it done at birth, or recent? Do you lift, or work out a lot? Do you sit or lay down a lot? What's your age?

Hi,thanks for reply.

I do not really have any other problem like sciktica and neither back injury.

Also I am not circumcised. I get this stabbing pain in left front side of foreskin (when it is not pulled back).

I am 28 years old,do not work out, and for last few months I have not been at any work at all.

I do sit a lot but have during my whole life, heh :).

What about injured foreskin due to showering? I have been showering approx 2x a day for last 3,5 months but never had any problem but what if I pulled my foreskin more and damaged it?

There is no visible injury though.

Could it be a nerve damage and how long does it take to stop hurting?

Also, what about prostatitis? Would it manifest like that?

What other possibilities are there please?

Thanks

Well since you're not circumcised, it could be an actual issue under the skin itself, between it and the glans, like Phimosis, which is a fungal infection of the foreskin due to improper hygiene. That doesn't seem to be the case with your shower regiment, but could excess showering cause it? No, I don't believe so. Prostatitis is an infection of the prostate, which can enlarge and press on nerves in your pelvis and groin that radiate into the penis. Sometimes pinpointing where an actual issue is in the groin can be extremely difficult. If it is an injured nerve, it might be some time before it's completely healed, but the only time I've ever heard of anyone injuring a nerve in the penis is due to excessive masturbation, masturbation with too much pressure applied, pulling/stretching, and aggressive intercourse. You can try rolling back the foreskin and inspecting the area you feel the pain. Make sure you're washing this area, obviously, but if it persists for another month or so, go get it checked out by a urologist.
