Bleeding 6 days after circumcision

Hi,

I had a circumcision last Friday, it appeared to be healing over the weekend.

I bathed the area on the Monday and also started to experiencing pain and some bleeding at night :/

Thought I was making good progress, is bleeding common after 6 days?

Any advice would be great to reduce the bleeding?

Sounds like you experienced a bad night time erection. Your erection likely caused bleeding where the stitches are.

Only thing I recommend buying is liquid band-aid and putting it on. It does sting for a minute while it dries but will make healing faster since it covers the outer layer creaking a instant scab.

Thanks, bled quite a bit last night, soaked through 3 thin layers.

I can't tell if the stitches have come undone.

The skin has started to cover the the head of the penis, before it was showing.

Bit of a concern!

Depends on the severity of the bleeding. A few drops of blood are normal and fine, excessive bleeding is not fine and shouldn't be happening. Pain at night - I assume you mean while sleeping and waking up to it hurting due to an erection. That is normal.

I'm concerned about using the gel because I'm not sure if it's not appropriate.

I bled more last night,, it soaked through my underwear, PJs and a thin bed sheet. Which to me is excessive. It's stopped bleeding.

Anything to stop the erections?

I had similar issues. I had mine done 2 weeks ago first 7-10 days there was bleeding mainly at night but I would wake up several times every night with very painful erections so I put the bleeding down to that.

But the past couple of days there has been barely any blood at all and no pain so I’d expect you’ll be fine within a few days

Thanks for the reassurance!

Just don't know how it will turn out or whether it's going to plan.

I bled through thin 3 layers last night, not sure if the stitches came undone as the the top of penis is not as exposed.

See what tonight brings b

I think everyone is different. I found my consultant gave me no information at all about what to expect in the weeks and months after the operation so i’m just taking it each day and night at a time.

It’s early days for you but i’m sure you’ll see improvements with a few days.
