It’s been almost ten months now since my circumcision due to a medical condition (adhesions of the foreskin to the glans) and the scar area is still very sensitive, especially near the frenulum. It’s like a tingling sore feeling when it is lightly touched. It also feels very uncomfortable when this part rubs against my clothing. Anyone that has had their op for long now feel anything similar?
I did a few google searches and some folks appear to be using artificial foreskins to cope with this kind of stuff. I found two brands so far on the net: SenSlip and ManHood. Anyone tried them out?
I also read that some use oils or Vaseline to keep the glans and surrounding area moisture and thus reduce soreness. Is this safe?

Not normal, talk to doctor. 10 months is way to long. You might need some medication cream or something. Been 3 weeks since my circumcision and head is already used to clothing. I had it done due to tight foreskin.
How old are you? age might play a role in your healing journey.
I am about 18 months on and I still find some areas quite sensitive, but not painful. I use moisturising cream and occasionally cocoa butter to keep the area moist. Most people say to let the area dry up and it will become desensitised. To be honest I do not want it desensitised. I can cope with the occasional ouch in return to retaining some sensitivity.
As for the artificial foreskin, I have never tried them but believe they are like a condom with a hole in. It would be interested to see how effective they are, and indeed if they serve any purpose.
I’m 39 now (38 when had the op). I’ve seen the doctor who performed the surgery and another different one, and they both told me I’m fine. As a matter of fact, I asked them that I thought that this kind of soreness wasn’t normal so long after the op and he said: “you can’t apply the term normal here, because how one normally feels after a circumcision varies from man to man since it has to do with how sensitive your penis is in the first place”. I was just wondering if anyone had similar experiences.
Jaglad, I too wish to keep the penis sensitive if that means sex feels better. Do you use the moisturising cream and cocoa butter on a daily basis or just some days?
These are the two links I found for the artificial foreskin:
I have not tried that but I certainly will, it sounds like a good idea, thanks! It's like the whole scar area is super sensitive and it's quite bothersome when in contact against the clothes.
I bought one of those ManHood retainers to try it out a couple of days ago. I'm waiting for my order to arrive.
I am taking a look to those foreskin restoration techniques. Are you a restorer yourself?
