I had a circumcision 3.5 weeks ago - you may have seen my posts about my worries about the scarring.
I have another question. I have noticed two small hard lumps under the skin close to but not on the incision line.
They certainly weren't there before the circumcision so they must be related. Any idea what they can be?

Probably subcutaneous sutures which should dissolve in time, but may take a few months.
Be patient and try and just forget about it, the body is very good at recovering.

It will take a few months for the swelling to go down and the scar to settle down.
Did you have dissolvable stitches or glue?
Yes I did have dissolvable stitches. Appreciate what you say about the scar but my question wasn't about the scar. It was about hard lumps under the skin away from the scar.
I suspect that goldfish has called it right.

Hi Nigel. I too was circumcised just over 3 weeks ago and have what I think is a similar problem. The scar itself is healing well. However, on my shaft, pointing generally left to right, as I look down, are two uneven, irregularly shaped lumps, quite hard and a bit uncomfortable to touch. They're probably about 1cm from the scar itself, so aren't part of it but weren't there before the circumcision. A doctor I've seen said they're almost certainly fibrous scar tissue, which I'll always have. I don't see how they can be scar tissue, since they're so far away from it.
I do remember the surgeon saying before the op that, if there are any cosmetic concerns, they can be looked at afterwards.
Did you resolve your issue 10 months ago?

Hey I was circumcised 3 month ago and have the same . Like an hard lump / vein under shaft skin that doesnt want to get normal though . I want to know How is develop ur situation and any advice . I dont talk with the doctor yet But I am still scared .
Hey. I'm glad to say that the lumps disappeared after a month or so. No trace of them now.
Well ur comment look hopeful but I have the lump now since 3 months and I am scared what that could be . But if is not gonna disappear I must check with the doctor. All the best

Do you also have same problem ? As I do have round shaped hard lump inside the skin in shaft in below side and it's hard like a bone but do not have pain .is this normal or I should also go to see a surgeon

My surgeon said it would go away but it’s been 7 weeks and it has not decreased. It is on the left side of my shaft under the scar line. It is not painful and only hard like a rock when I’m erected. It is just uncomfortable. I don’t know what it is. Maybe a broken vein or something like that. What about yours?
Same small circular thing inside the skin ..it's hard and in left side only a bit ...when I get erect or flaccid it doesn't hurt ..nor while sex but I worried about it and asked to a nurse ...he said it's a lump due to knot done by surgeon to blood vessel there and have cartilage stuture which body will dissolve in some times ...well I don't believe him untill I came to this thread ..still thinking to visit that surgeon in particular
Dude' I have hard like a bone I don't know what is it's I don't think if is hard vein or flesh but it is hard not pain when I toch but uncomfortable when I sex!!!
I have the same problem . Its on the top part of my penis . But just under the incision site. Its quite a hard lump and its only on that top area

The lumps should be out in like 3-4 weeks my doctor said that you should keep your penile upward and I think he said that so the blood from the circumcision will spread all over the body

I have had this lump quite close to the incision line for many years. I was cut back in 2002 and to date I have this lump on the left side of the shaft near the incision line. I know it looks weird to start worrying now but what bothers me is how sometimes it gets harder and itchier especially when my penis is erectile and sometimes so mild. I have a keloid problem as my wounds basically leave a scar and so I have always hoped it is the same with my shaft lump. Only thing is, it is under the skin unlike other keloids that are on the surface. Does anyone has any explanation about my condition?
I hope someone found an answer to this . I am really worried rn .its been 10 days since my circumcision .and Im noticing this only now . Its a hard lump about 2cm wide across the upper part of my penis just under the incision site . Please let me know if you have any answers . Im worried that my surgeon performed a messed up surgery .
It is nearly two years since my operation - I’ll answer this and add some updates.
Firstly, I started this thread specifically about two hard knots under the skin. I did see the consultant about these and he confirmed that it is where veins are stitched and they will go as they heal and the stitches disolve. And they did.
That was the good news, but now the bad.
So I was fobbed off with “the human body is a wonderful thing, but it takes its time, you need to wait 18 months or more for proper recovery”.
Not convinced but I did as I was told and I waited. So it is now about 22 months and still not impressed.
The scar line is still quite ugly, lumpy and with clear stitch marks.
More worrying, is a hard lump has developed as you describe. It feels quite rectangular, hard to judge the size accurately but maybe 1cm wide and 2cm long. It certainly wasn’t there before the operation.
It makes erections feel a little uncomforatble. I also notice that I have lost about an inch from erect length and now have a noticeable bend to the left when erect.
There is a thing called Peyronie’s Disease which sounds similar, I’m not going to jump to conclusions though so arranging to see my doctor to ask about it.

I am 22 and had my circumcision done about 4 months ago, seems like i have a similar issue, 3 lumps on the scar line which are in fact itchy, it has been like this for the past 2 months but i was sure it is some sort of an infection as me and my girlfriend get really freaky. i have been to a sex clinic where they gave me a cream thinking it was banalities, after 2 weeks of applying the cream, no results.. lumps are still there and these are not after stitches as the one form stitches are next to it and hard. I am going for a check up at the same clinic i had my circumcision done, hopefully it is not all bad news, will keep the ones that worry most updated. !
Ok so after seeing the doctors, i have been told that these lumps are basically skin that has not stopped growing, in some cases called Keloid. i know some of you are experiencing pain rather than itching like i was, i have been given a cream "Canesten" which takes care of any bacterial infection and makes the skin stop producing more tissue. i have to be using it for a month so again, will let you know the outcome. For any people out there that are worries i can just say that do not overthink this as it is not healthy and will only make things worse. Wait and see, stay relaxed
