Try to call a mental health clinic as they might be able to help you how to get a person in for examination.
What do you by becomes aggressive when "challenged". I guess one could involve the cops and they might ask for an evaluation. But if it is a family member it could be problematic in the future. Try calling up a mental health clinic as they should have experience with such things.
Thanks very much for your response. As you can imagine, there is a lot more going on than i have stated, just to be brief.
What mean by aggressive - example, delusion is that i have had relationships with other men and women, this is not true. I therefore challenge it by saying not true and not factual. I just get very angry response to shout me down. To keep peace I shut up.
I sadly had to involve police, they walked away as they said it is a domestic issue.
My GP told me that the right next step is a assessment, as you say. I cannot get this person to agree to an assessment. I don't have experience in these things and don't want to push the issue by any force. Person is sick and needs help.
Just wish they would realise they have a problem
Hope to hear from someone who has been there
thanks Cipher to taking the time, happy to listen to more input, no matter what
What I meant to say with involving the police, unfortunately they can act only when there was harm done, mostly physical hence why I asked about aggression. Unfortunately there is no real way to make a person undergo an evaluation without their approval unless there is that assault as I mentioned. That could be court ordered but as I said there would have to be a criminal case. As I said, mental health clinics should be able to advise you so try it there.
you clearly don't know the person is ill, you are not a Doctor otherwise you wouldn't be asking how to get mental health or a GP involved. you sound very controlling
