Circumcision. 3 months later and still sore.

I had a circumcision 3 months ago and I'm still not healed. There is a dull pain around the site and erections are very sore. There is a a red laceration around the bottom of the head and what appears to be a little flap of loose skin. I've been to the hospital a few times and been told to just wait for it to heal. But it isn't getting any better at all. I'm concerned that's it's just not healing. Has anyone else had any similar experiences

I haven't been able to have sex or even masturbate in 12 weeks and feel like I'm going a little crazy. Thanks all!

At three months you should be on the way to recovery but it is not something you can rush. You need to keep the area clean and dry. Provided it does not continue bleeding you need to let any blood congeal, this will help any open wound to heal. If erections are making matters worse, consider wearing very tight fitting pants to reduce movement or even some type of delay spray.

My son is in a similar position and we've been told to put salt in warm water (enough to make it look cloudy) in a cup and 'dip' the affected area for as long as you can endure every time after passing urine and take anti biotics (Augmentin) and wait for it to heal and keep it as dry as possible. It's really difficult right now - you're not alone. I think there are some people who do not recover easily/quickly although everyone hopes they will. I wouldn't ignore a constant dull ache/pain as there might be something else which needs to be investigated/eliminated. Trust your instincts and go back to the hospital and/or GP if only for reassurance

The dull pain around the side is pretty normal I get them pains as well but you seem to be further ahead of me yet far behind me I’m 7 weeks in and completely healed.

I took two courses of flucloxacillin 500mg which helped with the infection I got and the healing process.

However it may be worth consulting a gp or a urologist if it consists.

As for salt baths I never took a single salt bath or listened to any advice regarding getting my penis wet I kept it as dry as I could for as long as I could.
