I'm not in anyharm but I was looking at a brochure for a women's shelter and thinking if I were to ever have something traumatic where would I find the same sort of support? And will they be able to help against false reporting of rape and child custody? Also linked to this, what actually causes alot of the male suicides?

There's no easy answer to your questions as charitable refuges will vary depending where you live. Similarly the causes of male suicides are widespread and complex, usually involving multiple factors. The macho personality and loss of "breadwinner" status have been cited in recent increase in male suicides, but every case is individual and different. Bereavement, financial loss, shame, relationship breakdown, loss of status are all major causes
